Compiling all the problems Tesla has suffered in designing, mass-producing and selling its Cybertruck pickup truck in a single article is an almost impossible task. Especially because if we take into account that a new one appears almost every day, it would be necessary to update it constantly. It might seem that, given the proximity of the delivery date for the first units (November 30, 2023), they were going to be left behind. Nothing is further from reality. .
According to Business Insider, the ‘lucky’ 10 who will receive a Tesla Cybertruck on Thursday, November 30 know virtually nothing about the vehicle. Not even the most basic information, such as the kW of power that its motors will generate or the autonomy that its batteries will enable. But the most serious thing of all is that, despite having deposited $100 as a reservation some time ago, they also do not know the exact price they will have to pay.
Buyers only know some alleged leaked or accidentally disclosed details. For example, a few days ago an image of an information sign was published indicating that the towing capacity of the Tesla Cybertruck would be 11,000 pounds (almost 5,000 kg). It is true that the company, after the official presentation of the truck at the end of 2019, published several important details on its website. However, all of them were eliminated before the year 2022 began.
What Tesla said about the Cybertruck
Specifically, Tesla stated that the cheapest version of the Cybertruck would be priced at $39,900 (around 36,325 euros). However, it assured that it would manufacture two higher-performance models that would sell for $49,900 and $59,900 (45,428 and 54,532 euros, respectively). The withdrawal of this information suggests that production problems have led to an increase in sales prices. Many X (Twitter) users are trying to pressure Elon Musk to provide more data on the matter, but so far they have had no luck.
There are also the prices of other similar electric vehicles within the US market to consider. This is the case, for example, of the Ford F-150 Lightning, which is currently on sale for an entry price of $52,000, but was advertised as an ‘affordable’ truck for $40,000. Something similar has happened to the Rivian R1T. It was originally advertised for $67,500, but now sells for a minimum of $79,500. According to the original source of information, the Tesla Cybertruck will equip one, two or three electric motors capable of reaching 100 km/h in a period of between 6.5 and 2.9 seconds. For its part, the autonomy of the vehicle will be between 400 and 800 kilometers. Furthermore, its length will not reach 5.8 meters in any case.
