At last October’s event Apple not only surprised us with its first night event, but also when we learned that the entire event had been recorded with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple’s powerful new device was the camera used to record all the scenes, relying on professional elements and an app that you can download for free.
“It’s amazing that such a compact and portable device offers a quality worthy of a $20,000 camera.”
The app with which Apple recorded its event
Apple used highly professional equipment in the recording of its event, although the only camera used was that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, the company did not use the default camera app, since it does not have professional models, for the recording was used an app available in the App Store for free.
“The film crew shot with multiple iPhone 15 Pro Max devices and took advantage of the integration between the iPhone 15 Pro, the Blackmagic Camera app and Tentacle Sync to showcase the full power of the Apple ecosystem. Tentacle Sync connects via Bluetooth to generate timecode and allow all devices on set, including Macs and preview screens, to be in sync throughout the production phase.”
The Blackmagic Camera app was used to record the Apple event from the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is an app that allows you to adjust settings such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance and ISO, all with a single touch.
Perhaps Apple should take note and develop a pro version of its camera app for the iPhone Pro. It would certainly be a very interesting option for all those who use the iPhone Camera professionally.
Thanks to the Blackmagic Camera app, designed exclusively for iOS, the film crew could use the same built-in interface as on Blackmagic Design’s award-winning cinema cameras and access the same tools used in feature films, TV series and documentaries. The app, available on the App Store for free, adds digital cinema camera controls to the iPhone and supports encoding via Apple Log on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
